Huck's Heroes

Dr. Rob Carson
Dr. Rob Carson of Australia didn't allow his lack of medical proper equipment keep him from saving a young boy's life. Twelve-year-old Nicholas Rossi was suffering from internal bleeding in his skull--the same condition that recently killed actress Natasha Richardson--after falling off of his bike. Dr. Carson needed to relieve the pressure, but didn't have access to a neurological drill. To make sure, the doctor found a normal household drill and went for it. Although Dr. Carson is a physician at a small country hospital and had never performed this sort of procedure before, he drilled into Nicholas' skull until the blood clot fell out. The boy was later airlifted to Melbournes' Royal Children's Hospital.
For his bravery and grace under pressure (no pun intended), Dr. Rob Carson is one of Huck's Heroes.
